Excel Your Faith

Rasul Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “It is the excellence of a man’s faith that he gives up meaningless work.” [Tirmidhi, Ahmad]

We need to check all our activities and label them to see which belong to the category of meaningless. If the activity is not taking us towards a meaningful goal for any of the roles that arise from our ideology (e.g. Muslim, parent, son/daughter, self, breadwinner,da'ee, etc), then it would be to our advantage to replace it with more meaningful activity.

Anything that does not bring us closer to Jannah and distance us from the Fire is meaningless in the long run, and will cause us to regret when it will be too late to realize why did we bother to waste your time with it.

Life is too precious to be wasted for worthless or meaningless matters. The best use of life is to spend it for something that outlasts life -- i.e. akhira. Life is like a cash register, in that every thought, every deed -- like every sale is registered and recorded.

Life is not lost by dying; rather life is lost minute by minute, day by day, in all the thousand small uncaring ways.

We are here to add what we can to life, not to get what we can from it.

Do You Own World ????

Reported by Aisha (RA): Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said “The two rak’as before dawn are more valuable to me than the world and what it has.”

A Muslim Submits....

Islam is submission. As Muslims we submit, surrender and hand over ourselves to the Divine command of Allah Ta‘ala and the perfect Sunnah of Nabi (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam). In our Imaan, we submit and surrender our intelligence and understanding to believe in Allah Ta‘ala and in the unseen, as explained to us by Nabi (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam). In our Salaah, we submit and surrender our physical limbs and place them down before Allah Ta‘ala. In fasting we submit and surrender our desire to eat and drink for the pleasure of Allah Ta‘ala. In Zakaat and qurbaani we submit and surrender our wealth for the pleasure of Allah Ta‘ala. In Haj we submit and surrender to the command of Allah Ta‘ala by sacrificing our health, wealth, time and homeland; and we present ourselves in the blessed lands in search of the grace and mercy of Allah Ta‘ala. A Muslim is an embodiment of submission.

One into Ten

Reported by Ibn Mas’ud (RA): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: “Whoever recites a letter from the Book of Allah, he will be credited with a good deed, and a good deed gets a ten-fold reward. I do not say that Alif-Lam-Mim is one letter, but Alif is a letter, Lam is a letter and Mim is a letter.”

Why is it that....??

Why is it that we know the purpose of our life yet we are not fulling the purpose of our creation? Why is it that we know we could die at any second yet we are not preparing for our imminent death?

Why is it that we know our life is short & temporary & that the Hereafter is for eternity yet we continue to invest everything into our short temporary life which can end at any second but neglect the Hereafter which will last forever?

These are questions we must keep asking ourselves because we have become truly deluded chasing a path that leads to a dead end rather than a path that will lead to eternal success.

Wordly Beauty...........Temporary Pleasure

The proof is in the pudding. Mere talk and bayans are not a sign of true love, rather abstaining from sins is the true sign of love.

خاک ہو جایئں گے قبروں میں حسینوں کے بدن
ان کے ڈسٹمپر کی خاطر راہ پیغمبر نہ چھوڑ

The bodies of the damsels shall rot in the graves
Do not shun the sunnah yearning for their makeup

Chasing After Duniya !!

Reported by K`ab bin Malik (RA): Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, “Two hungry wolves sent in the midst of a flock of sheep are no more destructive to them than a man’s greed for wealth and fame is to his Deen.”

Trial.....Closer to perfection

Do not lose hope in adversity and complain that God singled you out for punishment, remitting others guilty of worse sins. Your present state could very well be His intent to elevate your spiritual station; or He could just be testing your faith. Every day that you persevere, you grow closer to perfection. Thus your present despair may be the beginning of an infinite blessing.

Tawakkul Developed

Once during a famine Hadhrat Abu Ali Shafeeq Balkhi (Rahmatullah Alayh)saw a slave strolling happily. Shafeeq Balkhi said: "People are overcome with grief on account of the famine, but you are strutting around so happily." The slave said: "I am not concerned. My master has an abundance of food. He ensures that I do not remain hungry." This reply profoundly affected Shafeeq Balkhi who supplicated: "O Allah! This slave has so much trust on his mater's food. Why should I not have trust in You Who are the King of kings?" Thereafter, his tawakkul developed in perfection. He would often say that he was the mureed of the slave.

Have Courage like Kites

True courage is like a kite -- a contrary wind raises it higher. One man with courage makes a majority. The greatest test of courage on earth is to bear defeat without losing heart. "O God, give us the fortitude to endure the things which cannot be changed, and the courage to change the things which should be changed, and the wisdom to know one from the other."

Healing power of Love

God fills the hearts of those who love Him with peace, thus enabling them to endure afflictions with ease. And they also plead, "We shall bear every torment (of this world) with joye, but never shall we be able to endure being separated from You. When Your Magnificence illumines our hearts, all our pain, our sorrows seem meaningless and vanish.

A Night In A Muslim Household

Moulana Ismail (ra), the father of Moulana Ilyas (ra), had a rule in his house that at all times throughout the night someone would be up doing some sort of ibadah. This was the system of his household. So it was that first Moulana Yahya (ra), the middle son, would be up doing mutala, studying until about 1am. Then Moulana Ismail (ra) would wake up and Moulana Yahya (ra) would go to sleep. Then Moulana Ismail (ra) would do ibadah for some time and then he would go to sleep and before going to bed he would wake up the eldest son Moulana Muhammad (ra) and then Moulana Muhammad (ra) would be up in worship. This is how the night would pass in their house; throughout the night someone in the house would be up in worship. Look at how maqbool, accepted, this action of the family was that just simply from reading this brings happiness and joy to our heart, makes us proud that such people passed in our ummah and gives us inspiration to be like that. Our homes and our nights are quite different.

In What State Angels Leave You ???

Narrated by Abu Huraira (RA): Allah’s Apostle (peace be upon him) said, “Angels come to you in succession by night and day and all of them get together at the time of the Fajr and ‘Asr prayers. Those who have passed the night with you (or stayed with you) ascend (to the Heaven) and Allah asks them, though He knows everything about you, well, “In what state did you leave my slaves?” The angels reply: “When we left them they were praying and when we reached them, they were praying.”

The Best Relation

Reported by ‘Aishah (RA): Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, “The bond of relationship is suspending from the Throne, and says: ‘He who keeps good relations with me, Allah will keep connection with him, but whosoever severs relations with me, Allah will sever connection with him.”

Value of Sigh.........

A man who had wandered around the whole day in search of employment was returning empty-handed. He thought of his hungry wife and children at home. What will he tell them today? On his way home, he saw Ibraahim Bin Adham sitting peacefully. With a heavy sigh, the man said: "You are sitting so peacefully without a care in the world. I envy you." Ibraahim said: "Give me your sigh in exchange for all the ibaadat I have so far made."

A grief stricken heart has great value in Allah's court. In a Hadith Qudsi, Allah Ta'ala says: "I am in the broken hearts of people."

Kindness to Servant

Don't afraid of Thorns.....Keep Growing

“Brother! There is a steep and rocky road between me and Jannah. If I pass through safely, then your insult means nothing to me. But on the contrary, if I fail to cross that path and hence I am prevented from reaching Jannah then indeed I am worthy of insults much worse than what you have mentioned.”

-Hadhrath Abu Zar Ghifaari (radhiyallahu anhu)
(Once a person abused to him, Hadthrath replied with those sayings...)

Raza bil Qaza

Maalik Bin Dinaar went to visit Hazrat Rabiah Basri. He found in her home only a partly broken jug which she used for wudhu and drinking water; a very old straw-mat on which she slept and a brick which she used as a pillow. Maalik Bin Dinaar said: "I have many affluent friends. Shall I ask them to bring some items for you?"

Rabiah said: "O Maalik! Is my Provider, your Provider and the provider of the wealthy not the same Being?" Maalik said: "Yes."
Rabiah: "What, has He forgotten about the needs of the poor on account of their poverty while he remembers the needs of the wealthy?" Maalik Bin Dinaar: "It is not so."
Rabiah: "When He never forgets anyone, why should we remind Him? He has wished this condition for me and I am pleased with it because it is His pleasure."

Provision for Hereafter.....

Reported by Abu Hurairah (RA): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, “When a man dies, his deeds come to an end except for three things: Sadaqah Jariyah (ceaseless charity); a knowledge which is beneficial, or a virtuous decendant who prays for him (for the deceased).”
[Muslim]

Alhumdulillah Ala Kulli Haal

"Had Allah lifted the veil for his slave and shown him how He handles his affairs for him,

and how Allah is more keen for the benefit of the slave than his own self,

his heart would have melted out of the love for Allah and would have been torn to pieces out of thankfulness to Allah.

Therefore if the pains of this world tire you do not grieve. For it may be that Allah wishes to hear your voice by way of duaa.

So pour out your desires in prostration and forget about it and know; that verily Allah does not forget it."

Ibn al Qayyim (rahimahullah)

Loosen the Knots

Reported by Abu Hurairah (RA): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, “When any one of you sleeps, Satan ties three knots at the back of his neck. He recites this incantation at every knot: ‘You have a long night, so sleep.’ If he awakes and remembers Allah, one knot is loosened. If he performs Wudu’, the (second) knot is loosened; and if he performs prayer, (all) knots are loosened. He begins his morning in a happy and refreshed mood; otherwise, he gets up in bad spirits and sluggish state.”

Where True happiness Lies??

Paint the Best !

There was a King who had 1 Eye and 1 leg..

He asked all the painters to draw a beautiful portrait of him. But none of them could -- how could they paint him beautifully with the defects in one eye and one leg.

Eventually one of them agreed and drew a classic picture of the King.

It was a fantastic picture and surprised everyone..

He painted the King AIMING for a HUNT. Targeting with ONE Eye Closed and One Leg Bent ...

MORAL : Why cant we all paint pictures like this for others. Hiding their weaknesses and highlighting their strength.

You're Being Watched 24/7

“We need this at every moment, every silence, and every look. It is the subject of being conscious of Allah, the Majestic and most high. Allah says: “he knows of that which deceive you with the eyes and all that the hearts conceal. Indeed noting is hidden from Allah whether in the heavens or earth”.
Nothing is hidden from Allah, the great! He is the lord of this universe. He is the true deity in this universe. Nothing on earth and heaven is unknown to Him. The scholars have mentioned: what is the meaning of consciousness? It is the knowledge of the heart of the nearness of the lord.
By Allah, it is a huge problem that one feels or fears the watch of the creation more than the watch of the great and Almighty creator. If cameras are installed in the market places, streets and gatherings and someone tells you “if you look at a woman, we will deduct from your salary and you will be punished”. Subhan’Allah! You will find people will think a thousand times before they look anywhere! They will lower their gaze. Why? Because there is a camera filming his/her every move. If they commit any wrong, their salary will be deducted. He will think a thousand times due to those cameras. But does he not think a thousand times that Allah is watching me? It is so sad to see people fear from their children, they will not do anything that is forbidden in front of the little children, they fear the reaction of the little children. But don’t they fear Allah the most high, the great? If this proves anything, it proves weakness of Iman.
For this I say, we are in dire need to remember Allah see’s everything at all times. Before you do anything, before you speak anything, before you look and before you make any decision- remember Allah the most high the great see’s you and is recording everything you do. Bishr al Hafi says “if people reflect on the greatness of Allah, they will not disobey Him.
If people reflect on the greatness of Allah they will fear Him, but now people reflect on the greatness of the creation! The greatness of the creation in his heart is immense. So he feels more shame from the creation than the creator.”

Maintain Relations

Reported by Anas bin Malik (RA): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, “Do not desert (stop talking to) one another, do not nurse hatred towards one another, do not be jealous of one another, and become as fellow brothers and slaves of Allah. It is not lawful for a Muslim to stop talking to his brother (Muslim) for more than three days.”
[Al-Bukhari and Muslim]
