Ya Ilahi

Ilaahi dil mein mere ghair ka asar na rahe

Siwa-e Tere kisi par meri nazar na rahe

Tu kar be-khabar saari khabron se mujh ko
Ilahi rahoon eik khabardar tera.

Oh Allah, let not any stranger have an effect on my heart

Let my gaze not fall upon anything besides you

Let me become unaware of everything around me
Let me be fully aware of you alone.

Those at loss in middle night of Sha'ban

Our master Prophet Muhammad, (Allah’s blessings and peace be upon him) said,
“This is the middle Night of Sha’ban. Allah frees in it a large number of the people from (Hell) Fire, more than the number of the hairs growing on the sheep of the tribe, Kalb. But He does not even look at an individual who
- associates partners with Allah, or
- who nourishes malice in his heart (against someone), or
- who cuts off the ties of kinship (qata’ rehmi), or
- who leaves his clothes extending beyond his ankles (as a sign of pride), or
- who disobeys his parents, or
- who has a habit of drinking wine.”
Allah save us from being among these individuals. Amin!

Talabgar

Duniya mein hu, duniya ka talabgar nahi hu
Bazaar se guzra hu, khareedar nahi hu

-khwaja Azizul Hassan Majzoob RA

I live in the world but i do not cherish it
I walked through the marketplace, but I am not a buyer

Beware of Hardness

Beware of hardness, which is for the heart to become so coarse and callous that it is no longer affected by counselling, and neither softens nor is sensitive to the mention of death, of promises and threats, or of the events of the hereafter. Our predecessors have said, "four things are signs of wretchedness: hardness of the heart, dryness of the eye, avarice, and long hopes." So beware of these four. [ Imam al Haddad]
